Verse 1:
A lot have come and a lot have gone in my life so it seems
Those who I’d die for those supposedly close to me
Brothers and sisters since I was young spiritual as well as blood
Forsake me and on top of that drag my name through the mud
It’s been since fourteen was the last time you’ve heard from me
A lot has changed a lot of hurt nothing short of emergency
Anguish and pain didn’t vanquish His name His praise still on my lips
He’s forever the same never been changed what He’s done I won’t forget
All I knew had gotten took the enemy is wise and subtle
A huge fence I had to jump I must admit it made me stumble
After that another test – then a whole new life come next
All alone and overwhelmed why do I deserve this mess
In result lost my work my dream job got stole away
But still to this day got my full armour on display
Devastated beyond my control finances knocking at my door
But yet my father’s love always remains so faithful
Then some can’t handle the truth in the end they just refute
What the word say and the Lords ways and won’t hit there knee’s and pray
To seek His face seems to be a waste and that’s not even the worst of it
Because tail bearing snakes and wolves I had to witness my church split
They forgot who they was James speaks of this and His love
Sadly idols came first they forgot commandment one
My first love who I thirst of – He’s my beginning and end
My search done the worst was now I see the light at the end
I met my wife who changed my life completed me like she should
G duke and Pay-J remind me why life’s good
In darkness I felt heartless but Christ help me get it right
Matthew five fourteen He made me a city light
If you feel in the dark Christ the one to set the spark
Make the change ignite a flame then let the Spirit impart
To those who I meet and those who I greet I’m praying it’s Christ they see
That my actions express not my flesh but only His glory
Till death it’s Christ I reflect He who I won’t neglect
I know there’s plenty left until I become perfect
This road we walking on most def it ain’t paved
But those who endure till the end its they who shall be saved
